Whether for the purpose of attack or dim-witted transportation, the ability to actuate something oer long distance has been life-sustaining to the growth and growing of civilization. During the Middle Ages, before the cannons were invented, the most green and popular mood to shoot a projectile was the trebuchet. However, over the course of the years trebuchets have lost their popularity. We decided to make it back! The over each goal for this project is to build a trebuchet in order to rescue our very aver Gryphy, the school mascot. Strengths - build the trebuchet indispensable some tiny calculations and drawings. We formulated a rough sketch of what we regarded to accomplish. It was force with keeping in mind all the supports, pivot points, angles, and joints required for a permanent trebuchet. We cut all our pieces prior to grammatical construction so we could manikin our trebuchet. This allowed us to make certain that all of our proposed cuts, angles, and joints would fit together. By doing this, we were able to alter the dimensions of certain move of the trebuchet that were cause problems.

For example, at first we had decided to have a much wider base in order to bar the trebuchet from tipping over onto its side due to the forces exerted by the throwing arm. However, we later realized that the axle forthcoming to us was too fragile. We knew it wasnt midst enough to care the weight especially if it was spread over that long d istance. We brief our base by almost a half! so that the axle was much shorter. This way the exerted pressure wasnt entirely on the axle but was also on the steep supports. Also, the tension wouldnt be as much. As I look at our trebuchet I can pronounce that this is one of its strengths as this prevents any damages from occurring.
